written in 1999
"Love teaches us who we are and what we are and what life is itself"   Kingsley Amis
...... but are we prepared to accept the consequences of this knowledge?
Mixing the surreal with the suburban, DV8's new work, The Happiest Day of My Life, examines
what is swept beneath the carpeted lands of convention in the pursuit of love.
Kate wants to be in love, but only if it is perfect   [ fantasy is a hard act to follow ]
So she bought a wedding dress on sale or return   [ for better or worse ]
Rob is in the running, but what is he running towards — or away from?
[ What's the difference between illusion and delusion ]
All roads lead to the living room, in which ......
Kate loves Rob
Rob loves watching other people make love
Viv loves people who love her
and Liam loves people he shouldn't
Can "YES" ever be enough for the person who asks "Do you love me?"
